What is checkers board?

A checkers board is typically an 8x8 square board with alternating dark and light squares. The board is set up so that each player has their pieces on the three rows closest to them, with the rest of the board left empty. Each player starts the game with 12 pieces, typically referred to as "men," which are placed on the dark squares of the board.

The goal of checkers is to capture all of your opponent's pieces or to block them from making any further moves. Players take turns moving their pieces diagonally forward, jumping over their opponent's pieces to capture them. If a player's piece reaches the far edge of the board, it is "kinged" and can move in both directions.

Checkers is a strategic game that requires players to anticipate their opponent's moves and plan their own moves carefully. It is a popular and classic game that is enjoyed by players of all ages around the world.
